Laboratory Operations Modernization

Modernize your paper requisition processing.

Reduce Manual Lab Order Entry with AI + HL7 Integration

Many laboratories are still burdened by manual order entry, faxed requisitions, and incomplete data—slowing operations and impacting revenue. But despite great advancements in EMR interfaces and lab portals, paper orders are here to stay.

We've developed a modern solution designed to address this directly.

The system uses AI to capture and translate lab orders from multiple sources, including paper, fax, and digital submissions. This significantly accelerates and improves the accuracy of processing handwritten and EMR-generated paper orders, reducing reliance on manual data entry. Orders are validated in real time to ensure completeness and accuracy before they reach your system.

A key advantage is flexibility: we provide a full HL7 or FHIR orders interface that connects directly to your Laboratory Information System (LIS) or your existing ordering portal. We can also perform patient registration and EMPI lookups to help ensure patient identity accuracy before orders are transmitted. This allows you to retain your current systems while significantly improving the quality and speed of incoming orders.

With this approach, laboratories can:

  • Reduce manual workload and staffing costs while lowering operational cost per test.
  • Improve data accuracy and reduce rejected or delayed orders.
  • Accelerate turnaround times from order intake to processing.
  • Identify and resolve missing information while orders are still fresh in the practice workflow.
  • Scale operations without adding administrative overhead.
